Just In From Rambler

We got the call from Kenny, who is down in Key West after finishing the Ft. Lauderdale to Key West Race. Kenny was serving as Tactician onboard George David’s Rambler. It was our skippers first “distance race” since finishing the Volvo- a whole 12 hours! He was joined by Kimo Worthington, Casey Smith and Jerry Kirby.

Rambler had a good race, finishing first boat for boat and third on corrected time, a result the crew was very pleased with.

“It was a very fun tactical race and we’re really pleased with the result. We were sailing against a bunch of really good IRC boats in conditions that weren’t perfect for the big boats so it was all good. George David (owner and skipper of Rambler) puts the crew into positions where they really thrive and always has a team with excellent chemistry. Very fun to be around and very low pressure!

We had a few of the PUMA crew out there with us, even Kimo! It was nice to have him out sailing with us and he helped out a lots with tactics. Casey and Jerry were rock solid on the bow as usual, and I was told that Jerry had two original stories told during the race. Which is nearly unheard of!”
